Job Title: Project Assistant, Rubbish Film Festival

Contract Type: Fixed-Term (November 2024 – Mid-May 2025)

Location: Hybrid: Remote and On-Site (Rathnew, Co. Wicklow)

Hours: Part-Time (20 hours per week)

Compensation: The fee for this role is commensurate with experience. Details will be discussed during the interview

About the Role

Createschool, the parent company of the award-winning Rubbish Film Festival, is seeking a

motivated Project Assistant to join our busy team. The festival has grown significantly,

engaging students and schools across the country in creating impactful environmental films.

This exciting role offers the opportunity to support a unique initiative that combines creativity,

media literacy, and environmental advocacy.

The role involves a mix of remote work and on-site responsibilities at our office in Rathnew,

Co. Wicklow. We are looking for someone organised, enthusiastic, and eager to contribute to

the continued success of the festival.

Key Responsibilities

1. Workshop and Event Coordination

● Assist with scheduling and coordinating workshops with schools and facilitators.

● Ensure all materials, resources, and equipment are prepared and delivered on time.

● Support the planning and logistics of regional screenings and the national awards

ceremony.

2. Administrative Support

● Manage project timelines, maintain databases, and ensure accurate record-keeping.

● Handle communications with schools, partners, and students.

● Assist with grant reporting by compiling data and supporting documentation.

3. Social Media and Communications

● Respond to participant and partner queries via email and social media.

● Assist with scheduling and posting social media updates to promote student projects

and festival news.

4. Data Management

● Collect and organise submissions from students and schools, including films,

posters, and feedback forms.

● Analyse feedback and participation data to support reporting and project

improvements.

5. General Support

● Provide day-to-day assistance to the Festival Manager and other team members.

● Liaise with external stakeholders, including sponsors and collaborators, to ensure the

festival runs smoothly.

Key Skills and Competencies

Essential:

● Strong organisational and multitasking skills.

● Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

● Proficiency with office tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Notion, Slack).

● Familiarity with social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, TikTok, YouTube).

● Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable:

● Experience in project coordination or event management.

● Knowledge of environmental issues or media production.

● Skills in tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite for creating promotional materials.
