The course

  • is delivered online and includes plenty of hands-on activities, resources and downloads, with plenty of online support and guidance. Participants are encouraged to actively participate in the learning and submit their own work in some modules and complete small tests in others.

  • has been created based on our experiences of designing and delivering projects, workshops and programmes in primary school classrooms throughout Ireland for almost twenty years.

  • will include a strong focus on STEAM (an educational approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking). The end results are participants who take thoughtful risks, engage in experiential learning, persist in problem-solving, embrace collaboration, and work through the creative process.

What are the Modules?

In these modules YOU will learn how to write, edit, record, capture, produce, create and share your own...

  • Stop Motion Animations

  • Digital Music

  • Podcasts

  • Short Movies

  • Photographs

Each of the 5 modules consists of a combination of approx 2 hours online and 2 hours offline applied learning. This is to ensure that, when you have completed the course, you should have the confidence and capability to apply the techniques and methods you have learned directly into your teaching and in doing so enhance the learning experience of your pupils. There is a Reflective Assignment at the end of the course that allows you to combine and showcase your creative skills.

What devices/equipment/ software do I need?

So you will need a tablet or smartphone that can download apps and that has a camera. We will show you some tips and techniques and explain the reasoning behind their use and demonstrating mostly on iPads but referencing other options.

You can use a laptop or a desktop computer for part of the course but it is not essential and it would be preferable to use a tablet or phone (smart device) exclusively.  If you are unsure about this please feel free to contact us with any queries.
